BRINTON, Gerald Vincent - 87 of South Berwick and formerly of East Hall Road, Kings County passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Hampton, Annapolis County he was a son of the late Ira and Lucy (Ray) Brinton. Gerald served in the Canadian Army during WW II and following the war, re-enlisted in the RCAF, retiring after 28 years of service as a telecommunications technician. He then re-classified as Class C Personal and continued to serve for another period of time. His last occupation was at the 14 Wing Greenwood golf course as a greens keeper. Gerald was a past member of Kingston Branch #98 Royal Canadian Legion and also a past member of Valley Wing RCAFA. Surviving are his daughter Teresa Mombourquette, South Farmington; sons Larry (Joan), Morristown and John, Edmonton, Alberta; sisters Marjorie Brinton and Myrna Walls both of Halifax; grandchildren Colin, Kevin, Ian, Justin, Caitlin and Robert. He was predeceased by his wife the former Dorothy Hebert; brothers Donald, Stanley, Ray, Boyd and Gordon. Cremation has taken place and by request there will be no visitation. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service, conducted by Middleton Branch #1 RCL, will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 26th in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Private family interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia or the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
