Obituary

YORKE, Geraldine Ruth ~ Age 84, formerly of Cambridge, Waterville and Black Rock, Kings Co., who was born on May 7, 1936, in Inglisville, Annapolis Co., and was a daughter of the late Norman and Muriel (Reese) Burns. With broken hearts the family announce the peaceful passing of their mother, grandmother, great grand mother and sister on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. In her earlier years she had worked at cleaning houses and was a seasonal factory worker. Geraldine at been employed for several years in the house keeping department at the former Western Kings Memorial Hospital, Berwick, until her retirement. She had been a member of the Waterville Baptist Church and Sharon Club. Geraldine was a one-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Department and had enjoyed playing darts. Surviving are children, Susan Crossland, Waterville; Heather (Orley) Lutz and Jamie (Audrey) Cochrane, both of Aylesford; grandchildren, Jason, Tanya, Tammy, Elena, Jacob and Brandon; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Cooper, Ontario; Laura Levitt, Digby; Loretta (Wallace) Connors, Rockland; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, A. Ralph Yorke; great granddaughter, Elliana Baker; sisters, Lona Burns in infancy; Beatrice Dominey, Marcia MacFarlane, Kathleen Bent, Helen Schofield, Norma Henderson; brothers, Derrick in infancy, Robert and Brian Burns. There will be no visitation or service. Donations in her memory may be made to Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Department or Grand View Manor. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Grand View Manor and to her continuous physician of 53 years, Dr. Peter Goddard for his care and compassion shown to Geraldine throughout the years.
