SLAUENWHITE, Gertrude Anna – age 88, of Greenwood, NS passed away July 6, 2016 at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Kingston, NS, she was a daughter of the late Frederick Eskil and Annie May (Crawford) Floden. Gertrude had many hobbies and enjoyed photography, sewing, knitting, tole painting, quilting, rug hooking and gardening. She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Gertrude is survived by her husband Lowell; daughters, Shirlene Greer, LaHave, NS, Karen Slauenwhite-Eldershaw, Dartmouth, NS; son Kevin (Carol) Slauenwhite, Goulais River, ON; sisters Myrtle Lockhart, Wolfville, NS, Hazel (Martin) Brayman, Kemptville, ON; grandchildren Ulo (Michelle) Greer, Lily (Marc) Meadows and Tristan Greer; great-grandchildren Connall and Sage. Besides her parents, Gertrude was predeceased by brother Harold and sister Freda. In keeping with Gertrude's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Donations in Gertrude's memory may be made to Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448.
