TITUS, Gertrude Pearl-86 of Bridgetown, formerly of Digby passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Waldeck East, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Lorne and Jessie (Cress) Wright. Gertrude operated a private nursing service. Her favorite pastime was creating beautiful handmade quilts, knitting and tole painting. Her highlight of the day was to have a gathering of friends around the kitchen table having tea and her homemade treats. She is survived by daughters; Betty (Ron) Abbott, Wilmot; Sheila (Bill) Matthews, Fredericton; son, Perry (Julie) Ringer, Edmonton, AB, and several step-children; sisters, Joyce (Don) Hartwig, Salt Spring, BC; Margaret Rushton, Truro; Shirley Wright, Montreal; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husbands, Ernest Veinot, Mervin Ringer, Albert Hartling, and Blair Titus as well as brother Leslie Wright. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Fred Bigelow officiating. Interment will be in the Clementsvale Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Gertrude may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
