Gilbert Stanley Hinds

HINDS, Gilbert Stanley ~ age 85, of Nictaux South, NS, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS. Born in Nictaux South, he was a son of the late William and Myrtle (Naugler) Hinds.

Gilbert retired after 20 years with TRA Atlantic and was an avid gun enthusiast. He loved the land he called home and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Gilbert was also a collector of many “things,” especially binoculars. He enjoyed tinkering and was well known for being very regimented with his schedule. Gilbert will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his sisters, Marion Criece, Carrying Place, ON, and Linda Mullin (Douglas Robishaw), Brickton, NS; nieces and nephews, Kim (Al) Reynolds, Earl Criece, Angela (Michael) Allison, Pauline (Junior) Keddy, and Carl Mullin; great-nieces and great-nephews, Tyler Reynolds, Hunter Allison, Porsche Reynolds, Cole Allison, and Shelby Benjamin.

Besides his parents, Gilbert was predeceased by his brothers, Lawrence Hinds and Arnold Hinds; his wife of 51 years, Sylvia; and brothers-in-law, Merle Criece and Chris Mullin.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in the Nictaux Baptist Church, Christian Family Centre with Rev. Jeff Milne officiating. Interment will be in Nictaux Cemetery, followed by a reception in the Nictaux Fire Hall. All are welcome.
