TURCOT, Gilles Wilfred ~ Age 85, of Aylesford, Kings Co., N.S., formerly of Montreal, Quebec, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on February 24, 1939, in Montreal, Quebec, he was a son of the late Camillien and Lumina (Bertrand) Turcot. Gilles was a retired Constable with 22 years of service in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, C Division based in Montreal. He moved to Nova Scotia in 2002. Gilles loved fishing, especially in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, where he organized many trips for friends and colleagues. His surviving family are five sisters, Janine, Gisèle, Louise, Paulette and Diane; and four brothers, André, Gérard, Jean-Pierre and Michel. He had no children of his own but was close to many of his nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his best friend, Hélène Villeneuve. There will be no visitation or service, with a private ceremony at a future date for close family members. Donations in his memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
