Obituary

CROSS, Gladys Ceritha ~ age 90, of Middleton, formerly of Nictaux, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 in Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre, Middleton. Born on April 14, 1928 at Lake George, Kings County, she was the daughter of the late Melborne and Ceritha (Taylor) Lutz. She worked at the first Middleton Hospital, the Middleton Dry Cleaners and did housework and child care for family members and in the community. Our Mother enjoyed knitting socks and mitts, quilting and jigsaw puzzles. In later years, she found enjoyment doing word puzzle books. Gladys had a love of animals, especially white cats. She is survived by her daughters Doreen and Darlene Cross; sisters Laura (Cecil) Williamson, Sable River and Lillian (Ernest) Arnburg, Prospect; brother Dean Lutz, Berwick; cousins nieces and nephews. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Cecil; brothers Walter, Ernest and Benny and two siblings in infancy. A visitation will be held from 1pm until service time at 2 pm, Saturday, June 16th in the Nictaux Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery, followed by a reception in the church hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Recreation Fund or to a charity of choice. Our thanks to the staff of Grace Haven and the Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre for the wonderful care of our mother while she made her home with you.
