KENNEALLY, Gladys Ileen ~ age 94 of Aylesford, NS passed away peacefully Thursday, November 21, 2024 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville surrounded by her family. Born in Aylesford, NS she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Ida (Freeman) Mapplebeck. Gladys resided at Mountain Lea Lodge in Bridgetown for the last 10 months. She worked most of her career as a factory worker up until she retired at 65. Gladys enjoyed being outdoors in her veggie garden and knitting. She loved her dogs over the years, but her favourite was Lily, Gladys wouldn't go anywhere without her beloved baby. She was a loving sister, caring and fantastic mom, wonderful grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Gladys loved her family dearly and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah McEachern, New Minas; Lynn (Percy Misner) Kenneally, Berwick; Jacqueline (Harold) Patton, Middleton; Julie (Kevin) Wood, New Minas; sons, Grant Kenneally, Robert Kenneally and Larry (Mayla) Kenneally, all of Aylesford; sister, Rose Kenneally, Ontario; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Kenneally; sons, Laurie Vaughon and Cody Reginald; sisters, Dorothy Corkum and Ruby Smith; brothers, Joe, Ira, Paul and Ernie Mapplebeck. A special thank you to Mountain Lea Lodge for their care and kindness while mom resided there and to the nursing staff and doctors on Medical "A" and ICU at Valley Regional Hospital for all their care and compassion shown to our mom. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, November 28, 2024 in Aylesford Union Cemetery with Pastor Patrick Gilbert officiating.
