Gladys Bernice
Toole
November 27, 1929 – November 2, 2023
It is with peace of mind and a calmness in our hearts that we, the family of Gladys Bernice Toole, announce her passing. Gladys' lifelong journey came to an end on the 2nd of November 2023, while a resident of Grand View Manor Long Term care home in Berwick, NS. Gladys left this world just as she lived it, quietly, peacefully and with a destination in mind. Gladys was the daughter of the late Harry and Ella (Hiltz) Slauenwhite. She was predeceased by both her parents; infant daughter, Donna May; husband, Clyde; brothers, George, Leland, Seldon, Ervin, Duane; as well as sisters, Doris (Martin) and Alice (Harris). Surviving are daughters, Diane (Brock), Vair, Chester, NS; Linda (Alden) Neily, Kingston; sons, Darrell (Sheila), Edmonton, AB; Carman (Frankie), Lawrencetown; sister-in-law, Hazel Toole, Middleton; 12 grandchildren; 20 plus great-grandchildren and her beloved cat, "Molly". Gladys loved being outdoors, working in her garden, mowing lawns, chatting with neighbors, playing with her cat or just sitting on the step watching the traffic go by. She loved family dinners, visits from friends and family as well as long drives on the back country roads. Gladys was a kind, caring, gentle, generous individual that taught life lessons in a very subtle manner. She will be forever missed, but she is now where she has been wanting to be for quite some time, with her husband and infant daughter. A special "thank you" to all the staff at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital and Grand View Manor for the care, kindness and compassion that was bestowed on Gladys during her time with you. As the sign on the door of Grand View Manor states, "you are the best staff in the world" and on behalf of Gladys and her family we thank you. A special thank you to Judy Pinsent for all the years of help and support that you so freely offered to both Clyde and Gladys. As per Mom's wishes there will not be any visitation, or funeral service. There will be a private family committal service at a later date in North Kingston Cemetery with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Donations in Gladys' memory may be made to the Kingston and District Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1 855-825-3448. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
