TURNER, Gladys Mae ~ age 87 of Kingston, NS passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2019 in Kennedy's Home for Seniors, Kingston surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Muriel (Rafuse) Swinamer. Gladys was a retired elementary school teacher and a past member of the Millville Women's Institute where she was a member for many years. Gladys loved being at her trailer in Black Rock and enjoyed gardening and knitting and absolutely loved looking after her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Sandra (James "Chris") McPhee, Greenwood; sons, Chuck (Bonnie) Martin, Aylesford; Peter (Angel) Martin, Berwick; Paul (Coleen) Martin, Berwick; sister, Dorothy Cleveland, Kentville; grandchildren Leanne, Kim, Jacob, Robyn, Temika, Vanessa; great grandchildren Haileigh, Nathanyel, Matthew, Audrey, Mateo, London, Ava, Sophie, Chase, Landon, Kelland, Alyssa and great-great granddaughter Amelia Mae. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Norwood Turner and sister Edna. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service for family and friends will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, NS with Rev. Mel Malton officiating. All are welcome.
