JOUDREY, Glenn William ~ it is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Glenn Joudrey of Harmony, Kings Co., on the 18th of September 2023, at the age of 61. Born in Berwick, Glenn was the youngest son of the late Chester and Eileen (Pointer) Joudrey. He is survived by his wife the former Velvet Robar; son, Bronson (Jillian); his brother, Alan (Tracy); and his sisters, Linda Harris (Brian) and Wendy Fitch (Dave). Glenn is also survived by one grandchild, Brooklyn; his sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who all held a special place in his heart. Glenn lived and worked his entire life in Kings County taking on numerous roles and occupations. From 1980 to 1994 Glenn was an active farmer and aquaculture operator selling his produce at the Halifax Farmers Market and serving as President of the Halifax Farmers Market Cooperative from 1992-1994. In 1992 Glenn was elected a Kings County Municipal Councilor and served in that position until 2000. Over the years he had spent time serving on numerous boards and committees spanning several areas of expertise from agriculture and forestry to housing and transportation. He was a student of politics and was well known and active within the party he supported. In more recent years he had worked as a small business consultant, primarily to business owners in the agriculture and housing sectors, in addition to working as a rural route mail carrier for Canada Post. Glenn stepped away from his duties with Canada Post in 2022 and enjoyed being able to spend more time at his cottage in Morden, Kings County with his wife, family, and friends. Glenn was actively involved with the pursuits of his family, community, and workplace. He served as the manager of his son's minor hockey team in the early 2000's and was always available to help his son with his farm and anywhere else he was needed by his family and friends. Glenn was an active volunteer in his community in many roles but is most fondly remembered for his role as an auctioneer at various charity auctions over the years. During his time at Canada Post Glenn served as an active member of his union local, including as President, and always enjoyed helping his co-workers however he could. Glenn was relied on by family, friends, colleagues, and community members as a wise and level-headed problem solver, who could assist anyone to get to the bottom of an issue and find a good resolution. Glenn always had a positive attitude and was able to lift the spirits of those around him with his positivity and quick wit despite whatever adversity they faced. It is this aspect of his character that will be missed the most by those who knew and loved him. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30 , in Aylesford & District Lions Hall, 2160 Highway 1, Auburn, with Pastor Randy Hiltz officiating. Interment will take place in Morristown Cemetery. A video recording of the service will be available for viewing on Sunday afternoon below the full text of his obituary on the funeral home website.
