Glenn Allen
Kelly
July 1, 1945 – April 14, 2024
KELLY, Glenn Allen ~ It is with loving memories and sad hearts that the family of Glenn Allen Kelly, announces his passing on Sunday, April 14, 2024, in Valley Hospice, Kentville. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bette (nee Horsnell); sisters, Kathryn (Armin Sachse) and Heather (Kim Frost); brother, Keith Kelly; numerous nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joyce and Hubert Kelly; sister, Ruth Ann Kelly.
Glenn was born in Harbourville where he attended school and when the family moved to Berwick completed his education at Kings Regional Vocational School.
Glenn was a leader and action-oriented team player in life and in business. He was a Queen Scout, skated at the Berwick Rink, skied in the French Alps and owned and drove fast cars and motorcycles.
Career opportunities brought him to Halifax where he worked on the construction of offshore oil rigs at the Halifax Shipyards. Glenn's independent nature led him to establish a number of companies; Hawk Industrial Supplies, Dartmouth, Ocean Kitchens and Countertops, Cambridge and GlassChek and Hardware in Kentville.
However, his proudest moment came after eight years of tireless work, with the opening in 2008 of Kings Riverside Court, a senior's living residence.
He enjoyed talking with children and adults alike. People were drawn to him as they knew they would get good advice and their discussions would be kept private.
Glenn loved travel and photography. He captured images of his wonderful trips throughout North America, South America, Europe, Africa and China
There will be a Celebration of Life for Glenn from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 27, 2024 , when friends and family can gather at the Berwick & District Lions Hall, 250 Veterans Dr, Berwick, NS
