Hardiman Gordon Sidney - age 86 of Auburn, NS passed away peacefully at the Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Veterans Unit, Middleton on September 28, 2020. Born on December 1, 1933 in Upper Prospect to the late Sidney and Mary (O'Handley) Hardiman, Gordon was the last surviving member of his family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Heather (Jones) as well as his brothers, Michael, Richard, Harold; sisters, Florence and Margaret. Left to mourn is his beloved wife of 64 years, Gertrude Hardiman, nee Little; sons, Sidney (Lavenia) St Peters; Danny (Judy), Winnipeg, MB; daughters, Katherine Zilinski (Gordon),Boyle, AB; Tracy Caldwell, Kingston, NS; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A veteran of the Korean War, Gordon's commitment and service earned him many accolades and medals while serving at UN posts in Europe and numerous sites in Canada. Cremation has taken place with a family service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Parkinsons Society Maritime Region.
