HOGAN, Gordon Parker-88, Halifax, NS, passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII. He was the son of the late Charles and Muriel (Hiltz) Hogan. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Betty (Goodwin) Hogan; daughter, Jackie (Bryan) Parks, Waverley, NS; daughter, Muriel Hogan, Halifax; son, Leslie (Terri) Hogan, Calgary, AB; 4 grandchildren, Tracy Parks, Dartmouth; Cory Parks, Sackville, NS; Rebecca and Renee Hogan, Calgary, AB. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the Princess Louise Fusiliers 1940-1945. He served overseas in England, Italy, Belgium, France and Holland. After the war he was employed with Canadian Meteorological Services of Canada in Halifax, Goose Bay and the Halifax International Airport for 28 years. After retiring he was Deputy Sheriff of Annapolis County for a period of time. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the support, kindness and tender loving care given to Gordon by the staff and volunteers of Camp Hill Veterans' Building, QEII, especially V6 East. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 2- 4PM, at the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. The memorial service including a brief Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held Monday, January 16th at 2:00PM at the Middleton Funeral Home, with Rev. Janice Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the Wadeville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association - Nova Scotia Division; Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia; Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Garden or a Charity of Choice.
