Gordon Thomas Rose, of Greenwood, Kings Co., beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on July 26, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on December 27, 1946, in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, Gordon was the oldest son of Isabel and Clarence Rose.
Gordon worked primarily in sales and barbering. He had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid fisherman finding great joy in nature.
A skilled artist and cabinet maker, Gordon showcased his creativity at the Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival in Lunenburg for 11 years. His craftsmanship and artistic talent were admired by many and reflected his deep connection to his community.
He is predeceased by his mother, Isabel; his father, Clarence; his sisters, Judy, Sharon and Sandra; and his brothers, Dale and Jake; daughter-in-law, Natalie.
Gordon is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Marilyn; and their sons, Tyler (Colleen) and Zachary (Julia). He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Ben, Griffin and Eliza; as well as sisters, Kathy (Jimmy), Liz and Michelle (Jim); and brothers, Sandy (Jeannette), Gary (Jackie), Gilbert and Eddie.
In accordance with Gordon's wishes there will be no funeral service. His family invites those who knew and loved him to remember him in their own special way and to celebrate his life through their memories and shared stories.
Gordon's legacy of love, creativity and passion for life will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
