Obituary

ROSS, Gordon Douglas - 49 of Kingston passed away at the QE II, V.G. Site, Halifax on Thursday, February 6th, 2014. Born in Middleton he was a son of Evelyn (Potter) (Taylor) Ross, Kingston and the late Charles Ross. Gordon was the custodian at the Kingston United Church for 16 years. He enjoyed reading and loved the many pets his family had over the years. Gordon will be remembered as being a very friendly and outgoing person who was always willing to lend a hand. Surviving besides his mother, Evelyn are brother David, Kingston; half-brother Ira Taylor, Dartmouth; half-sisters Treasure (Philip) Stairs, Beausejour, Manitoba and Marilyn Archibald, Aylesford as well as Aunt Phyllis (Jack) Moorehouse, nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Charles, maternal grandparents Fred and Florence Potter and paternal grandparents David and Emma Ross; nephew, Philip Vernon Taylor Stairs (2001). By Gordon's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12th, 2014 in the Kingston United Church, Rev. Michael Mugford officiating. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448.
