Obituary

SPIDLE, Gordon Alexander-66 of Torbrook, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Cape Breton, he was a son of the late Murray Winston and Bernice Marian (Schofield) Spidle. Throughout his life Gordon was a commercial farmer; had his own cleaning business (Turboclean) and went back to farming during the last few years. He loved working on the farm with his family and also enjoyed and loved working with his horses and took great pride in caring for them. Gordon was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed his friends and helping everyone. He is survived by his loving wife the former Judy Mae (Walsh-OBrien) Spidle; daughters, Jancy Lee (Carl Marshall), Torbrook; Dyra Leigh Ann Mae Spidle, Torbrook; son, Aron Scott Spidle, Halifax; grandson, Carl Joseph Tigger Marshall, Torbrook; stepsister, Kay (Wilson) Conrad, Bridgetown; stepbrother, Carl Spidle, Bridgetown East and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00PM, Sunday, September 5, 2010 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. A Private Graveside Service will be held Monday, September 6, 2010 in the Hillside Cemetery, Port George, Rev. Danny Smith officiating.
