ELLINGWOOD, Grace ~ Age 92, of Greenwood, Kings Co., passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on August 26, 1928, in Ottawa, ON; she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth M. (Williams) Butler. Grace had been formerly employed with Royal Bank of Canada, and later working from home as a seamstress, professional cake decorator and Mary Kay Consulant. She sang in the Queen of Heaven Chapel Choir, 14 Wing Greenwood and had volunteered on the board of directors with FSNA. Grace was a proud member the Red Hatters and TOPS Chapter 462. Grace knitted toques for newborns at the I.W.K. Health Centre, sent care packages for soldiers in Afghanistan and was mom to the Greenwood Air Cadet band for 40 years. Surviving are her daughter, Angie (Ross) Ermel, Winnipeg, MB.; son, Robert Ellingwood, Greenwood; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. Ellingwood; son, David Ellingwood; sisters, Geraldine in infancy and Sheila Helen Butler; brothers, Robert Desmond and Leonard Maurice Butler. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend a graveside service that will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston. Father Robert Elford officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448.
