Obituary

DONNELLY, Graham Maxwell 93, Mount Hanley, passed away October 17, 2010 at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton. Born in Port George, he was a son of the late Melbourne and Muriel (Lantz) Donnelly. Graham took great pride in his family and in managing his family farm. He served as Trustee of the Mount Hanley School and Treasurer of the Port George United Church for many years. He was an avid reader, supporting the Annapolis Valley Regional Librarys bookmobile. He rarely missed its monthly visit during the past 35 years. Graham will be fondly remembered for his unique sense of humour and perspective. He was never pretentious and always practical. His effective use of common sense and good judgment will long serve to inspire his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Graham is survived by his daughter, Ruth Specht,Mount Hanley, son, John, Winnipeg, daughter, Jennie (Arthur) McDonald, Stellarton, his grandchildren, Debra, Aubrey, Ashley, Graham and William and his three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Embree), and his brother, Murray. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 20, 11:00 am at the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. Rev. Karen Ralph officiating. Interment to follow at the Hillside Cemetery,Port George. Donations in memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley Regional Library, St. Johns United Church, Middleton, Canadian Diabetes Association or charity of choice.
