Obituary

Greta June Fisher ~ 91, of Somerset, Kings Co., N.S., passed away in Valley Hospice, Kentville, on Thursday, July 30, 2025. Born in Morristown on July 22, 1934, to the late Ernest and Flossie Nauss (nee Frank), she lived most of her life in Somerset, where she and her husband Frank raised four children. She worked alongside him in his many endeavors on their small hobby farm. She also drove the mail route for many years in and around Somerset. In our mother's words, "I have lived a long and happy life and am so thankful for my wonderful family. Our summers spent at Harbourville in the cozy corner of Tim and Shirlene's property were so very special. Frank and I had so many wonderful friends over the years, and we felt so blessed." Our family often enjoyed the Sunday suppers and family celebrations in Harbourville throughout the years. Greta is the last surviving member of her family, predeceased by her parents; husband, Frank; siblings, Ruby Nauss (in infancy), Ralph Nauss, Grace Morton, and Gerald Nauss. She is survived by daughters, Sandra (Darrell) Lohnes, and Debbie Fisher; sons, David (Nancy) Fisher, and Tim (Shirlene) Fisher; grandchildren, Charlene, Allen, Katie and Robert; as well as the other children who joined our families whom she held so dear; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A special mention and appreciation to those devoted friends who attended to and loved her right to the end. As per her wishes, there will be no service, and she has donated her body to the Human Donation Program at Dalhousie University. Donations in memory may be made to this program by calling 1-902-494-6850. We were so very fortunate that our mother spent her last days at Valley Hospice under the compassionate and caring/loving staff. Each and every member of that organization treated her (and us) with the utmost care and respect. Donations in memory may be made to Valley Hospice Foundation at valleyhospice.ca or by calling 902-678-3247. Online guest book may be signed by visiting:  www.middletonfuneralhome.com
