BOONE, Gwendolyn "Lyn" Nora ~ age 75 passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Annapolis Royal, she was a daughter of the late John and Gwendolyn "Gwen" (Sly) Dexter. Lyn worked as a homecare provider and also was a cook at several restaurants. She was an intelligent, creative and artistic lady who was a hard worker, very independent and strong willed. She loved to read and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She donated many of the handmade items, such as hats and socks, to various organizations, always making sure each item was perfect. It was very important for Lyn to live at home and be independent for as long as possible. She will be sadly missed by daughters, Lynette Loomer, Kingston; Machelle Hubley, Greenwich; Linda (Rick) Ferguson, Westville; Candace Anita (Ken Bird), Kentville; Coralanne (Darren) Rafuse, Kentville; sister, Valerie (Keith) Hatt, South Waterville; brothers, David (Kathy) Dexter, LaFollette, TN, USA; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Lyn was predeceased by her sister, Sheila O'Connor and nephew, Teddy Hatt. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Medical Staff at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital for the special care and attention given to our mom during her last days. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, October 10 ^th in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. 902-825-3448 with Rev. Daniel Cormier officiating. Private family interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Mid-Valley Palliative Care.
