MURPHY, H. Jean - age 80, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Silvers Home for Seniors, Berwick, with family members present. Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Lorna G. (Hamilton) Doherty. Jean had many jobs over the years, being a waitress at Rice's Restaurant and Villa Lunch. She worked in the kitchen at Grand View Manor. Jean worked at the Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre for 20 years, first in dietary, then on the floor as a P.C.W. and finally retiring from the laundry department. She was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church, MacPherson Auxiliary, South Berwick Women's Institute and St. Eudora Rebekah Lodge No. 43, Berwick. Surviving are her children, Judy (Martin) Cudmore, Aylesford; Jimmy Murphy, Morristown; David (the late Marg) Murphy, Wilmot; Marlene (David) Tupper, Lake Paul; Barb (Mark) MacDonald, Morristown; grandchildren, Karen, Daniel, Robert, Melanie, Kyle, Dustin, Krista & Colin; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Ann Gould, Woodville; Carol Hampsey, Berwick; Frances (Laurie) Lowe, Aylesford; Madeline (Eugene) Sheffield, Centreville; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Stewart D. Murphy, brothers, Johnny and Eddie; sister, Geraldine in infancy. There will be no visitation. Memorial service followed by a reception will take place at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, November 1, in the Berwick Baptist Church, 265 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Murray Shaw officiating, with Interment in the Berwick Cemetery.
