Obituary

BURNS, Harold Parker ~ Age 71, of Nictaux Falls, Annapolis Co., passed away suddenly on Monday, March 1, 2021, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on June 5, 1949, in Berwick, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Floyd P. and Lila J. (Adams) Burns. Harold worked for over 32 years plus as a long-haul trucker, starting at Easson Transport, then at various other firms and finishing at GTL Transportation. He later worked as a Flagman for Safety First. Harold was an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 98, Kingston. Harold loved eagles, playing cards and darts and was a bingo fanatic. He was talented at wood working and enjoyed time spent creating projects. Harold especially loved his grandchildren, known as a tease and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He will be remembered for his love of lawn mowing at home, neighbours and at the Lions Park. Surviving are his wife the former Dianna J. Bell, Nictaux; daughter, Tammy Burns, Morristown; grandson, Jason-Scott; stepsons, Philip (Jessica) Bowser, Oromocto, N.B.; Waldon (Aimee Gilhen) Bowser, Musquodoboit Harbour; step grandchildren, Alexa and Emma; brothers, Roger (Anita) Burns, Morristown; Donnie (Shelly Gould) Burns, Berwick; Kenny (Angela) Burns, Waterville; sisters, Millie (Fred) Oickle, Waterville; Beverly (the late Brian) Weihers, Morristown; Pamela (Brad) Carey, Aylesford; sister-in-law, Sandra Burns, Aylesford; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by step granddaughter, Amanda Chaisson; brother, Carmon Burns. There will be no visitation or service. A private gathering will take place at a later date. Donations in Harold's memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to your favourite charity.
