Harold Archibald Robar – 73, of New Minas, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Harold was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Having an intellectual disability, Harold lived his life supported by professional caregivers. His extended family is grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to Harold throughout his life by the people at Bridgetown County Home, Annapolis County Adult Residential Centre, Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, Lahav Manor, New Visions Care Home where he spent his final years, and the team at the Nova Scotia Public Guardian and Trustee.

Harold enjoyed cars, playing with Lego, watching movies, and participating in group activities with his caregivers and fellow residents. He was social and conversational in his own unique way.

Harold’s mother, Ina Geraldine Kinsman Robar, died in 2003 in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. While he wasn’t given the opportunity to meet them, nor they him, Harold had two sisters: Brenda Joyce Robar LeBlanc (died December 3, 2025 in Lindsay, Ontario) and Shirley Ann Robar Stewart (Alberta).
