Obituary

GRAVES, Harry Eugene-86, of Auburn formerly of Aylesford, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 27, 2010 in the Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Aylesford, he was the son of the late Wesley Gettchell and Etta Kathleen (Marshall) Graves. Harry and his late wife, Pearl operated the family dairy and fruit farm in Aylesford until selling the property in 1983, but he continued to work there until he turned 75. Harry enjoyed helping Pearl maintain the flower gardens. He also enjoyed going for Sunday drives and family visits. He was a member of the Aylesford United Church and will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving and caring man. Harry is survived by sons, Geoffrey, Coldbrook; Kevin (Karen), Kingston; Brian, Aylesford; Matthew (Anna), Kentville; sisters, Leila (Ron) Crosby, Ottawa; Iona MacDonald, Antigonish; grandchildren, Jennifer, Thomas, Joel, Jayson; great grandchildren, Hanna and Nash and son-in-law, Brian Conrad, Berwick. He was predeceased by his wife Pearl, a baby sister, daughter, Anna Marie and brother-in-law, Murdock MacDonald. Visitation will be held 2:00 to 4:00PM and 7:00 to 9:00PM, Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. The Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, September 1, 2010 in the Aylesford United Church, Rev. Brenda Nesbitt officiating. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery. By request, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Aylesford United Church, Canadian Cancer Society or Charity of Choice.
