BALCOM, Hattie Grace, 90 of Paradise, Anna. Co. passed away at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Easter Monday, April 25, 2011. She was the daughter of the late John Leander and Myrtle (Norman) Taylor, Bridgetown. She attended Bridgetown High School and was a graduate of the Provincial Normal College, Truro. Hattie is survived by her husband, Edward Asom, and they would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on April 28, 2011. She was a loving Mother to her son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Dale Balcom, Halifax. She is also survived by her brother, Ralph (Valerie) of Fredericton, NB. Besides her parents, Hattie was predeceased by brothers, Owen, Fred, Laurie, Ernest; sisters, Hazel, Elizabeth, and Audrey. Cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home Ltd., Box 490, Middleton, NS B0S 1P0. No visitation or flowers by Mum's request. Private graveside burial will be at a later date. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to neighbours, Gerald and Rose Baltzer; Raymond and Marilyn Gaudet; her nieces, Sheila, Irene and Anna Marie. The biggest thanks goes to Hattie's beloved niece and "special angel", Joan Gillis of Halifax.
