Clarke (Burke), Heather Joy of Kingston NS passed away at home peacefully amid family and friends Tuesday 3 February 2015. Daughter of the late Ernest and Joyce (Baker) Burke, she is survived by her husband Ken, daughter Athena and son Adam, sisters Lynda Hansen, Michelle Caldbeck and her best friend Darlene Cooley-Warnell. Heather enjoyed life and exuded an enthusiasm rarely seen but felt by all who had the privilege of meeting and befriending her. An entrepreneurial spirit with a compassionate heart, she deeply affected those who she helped throughout her career as a rehabilitation consultant. Not one to rest on her laurels, Heather expanded her horizons and opened her own very successful rehabilitation company. Upon closing her company, she realized a lifelong dream, travelling to Germany in 2009 to visit her birth place, tour most of the European Union and experience the adventure of the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg, Austria. She looked forward to our family reunions in Inverness, Cape Breton, connecting with her Celtic roots and down home music. Her love for music lives on through Adam and her passion to "change the world" in Athena. In keeping with Heathers wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Heathers legacy will be held at the New Beginnings Centre in Greenwood, Nova Scotia at 2 pm 25th April 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mid Valley Palliative Care. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448.
