JEFFERSON, Helen Elizabeth-92 of Bridgetown, formerly of Meadowvale was called home by the Lord Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born on December 18, 1920 in Nicholsville, NS, she was a daughter of the late Maynard and Winnifred (Hodges) Lowe and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Helen and her husband, Milfred started Sun Ray Cleaners, Jefferson Sub Division and Wagalanta Kennels. Helen was always very active and was passionate about her faith. She enjoyed gardening, dogs, golf and travel. Grammie was most frustrated with not being able physically to do the things she loved to do, but never gave up trying to do what she was able. Helen had a great wealth of wisdom and a great outlook on life. She is survived by beloved granddaughters, Katherine (Scott) Gates; Brenda (Ricky) Davidson and Susan Jefferson; great grandchildren, Stephanie, Ryan, Dennis, Shannon and great-great grandchildren, Koen and Kira, all of whom she loved dearly. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Milfred St.Clair Jefferson, Sr; only child, Milfred Eugene Jefferson, Jr.; sisters, Peggy (Monita) and Violet and brothers, Theodore and Cyril. At Helen's request cremation has taken place. By request, there will be no visitation. A private family interment will be in North Kingston Cemetery with Rev. Herb Townsend officiating. Helen's granddaughters would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Janice for the love and care enabling her to stay at home as long as possible.
