Obituary

Helen "Sam" Theresa Jerrott (MacDougall) ~ January 3, 1936- Sept 1 st , 2018 of Greenwood, NS passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's in Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, NS. Helen was an active military spouse and a member of the 107 RCAF Association in Greenwood. Helen trained as an x-ray technician at St Rita Hospital School of Nursing, Cape Breton. She then left professional life to marry Walter Jerrott the love her life and raise a family within the busy life of the Air Force moving regularly making friends across the country. On her retirement from being a Mother she continued to be active in the community supporting various groups with fund raising in the Annapolis Valley. Her involvement with the 107 RCAF Association included many, many dinners, receptions and parties at the Wing. She continued her social life with bowling and dart leagues and crib games she brought the life of the party to each event. Survived by Sister Margaret MacDougall (Hazel Hill, NS); Daughter Margaret Waltner (Jerrott) Son in-law Dave Waltner; Grandchildren Christopher and Jessica Waltner (Kingston , ON); Daughter Christine Jerrott Son in-law Colin Smeltzer (Mt Uniacke, N.S); Son Michael Jerrott, Daughter in-law Ellen Amirault (Kingston, NS); Grandchildren Brianna Jerrott (Winnipeg, MB), Emma Jerrott (Kingston, N.S) Daughter in spirit Kathy Fifield (Middle Sackville, NS) She was predeceased by loving husband Walter Jerrott, two brothers and three sisters. Helen's spirit and antics will be remembered and her love for all she touched will live on with smiles and laughs. Funeral mass will be Sept 7 th , 2018, 2 PM at the Queen of Heaven Chapel, 14 Wing Greenwood N.S with a reception to follow at the 107 RCAF Association. Interment will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Kingston, Nova Scotia- Marshall Road. Family flowers only and if you would like to donate to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia or your choice of charity.
