Obituary

WHEELOCK, Helen Elizabeth – 96 of Nictaux Falls, passed away peacefully at Grand View Manor, Berwick on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Born in Middleton, NS, Helen was the only daughter of the late Walter Ainsley and Sarah Ellen (Myers) Hatt. She married Hollis in 1951 and moved to Nictaux Falls where she resided with Hollis until his death in 2009. Helen was a devoted member of the Nictaux Baptist Church, a founding member of the Nictaux Baptist Friendly Club and a member of the church choir. The Church was a very important part of Helen's life. She worked for many years at the Eaton's Catalogue Order Office in Middleton. Besides her parents and her husband, Helen was also predeceased by her brothers Willoughby, Freeman, Keith, Granville (in infancy), Lewis and Harold. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Dorothy Hatt, Meadowvale, NS. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13th in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902 825-3448. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14th in the Nictaux Baptist Church with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating, followed by a reception. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. Donations in memory of Helen may be made to a charity of your choice. Sincere thanks is extended to the staffs of both Grace Haven and Grand View Manor for the excellent care and compassion shown to Helen.
