DOWLING, Helga – Age 88 of Greenwood passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 25, 2017 in the Annapolis Royal Community Health Centre – Palliative Care. Born in Oker, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Gertrude (Englemann) Voigt. In early years Helga trained as a hairdresser and had worked as a cook with NPF/DND – 14 Wing, Greenwood before retiring. Her main focus was to make a loving home for her son Peter of Greenwood and provide support for her church. She was known for her unshakable faith and her trust in God. Helga will be sadly missed by her son and niece Monika (Helmut) Nenke, Pickering, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Harry; sisters Emilie, Karla, Frieda, Elsbeth and her brother Friedrich. There will be visitation from 1:30 until service time at 2:00 pm Monday, May 29th in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902 825-3448 with Pastor Mitch Lewis officiating. A reception for family and friends will be held immediately following the service. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery.  Donations in Helga's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Charity of Choice.
