MacDonald, Herbert Howard "Herb" ~ age 79 of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Stellarton, NS, he was a son of the late Herbert and Kathleen (MacKenzie) MacDonald. Herb was Corporal in the Canadian Armed Forces and served as a firefighter. He served in Quebec, all over Canada and in Europe. He enjoyed sports and was an umpire in baseball games. He could be found at the rink doing clock keeping and was a great volunteer. Herb was well known in the community always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be sadly missed by his wife Chezza (Tkacz); daughter Jackie (Jamey) Foster, Aylesford; sons, Daniel, Toronto, ON; John (MaryJane), Wilmot and Herbie, Greenwood; sister, Catherine (David) MacKenzie, Wilmot; grandchildren, Thomas, Katrina, Benjamin, Makayla, Samantha, Nicholas and Cassie; sister-in-law Muriel MacDonald; brother-in-law Doug McLeod, as well as several nephews. Besides his parents, Herb was predeceased by sister, Margie MacLeod; brother, Andrew MacDonald and niece, Sara Lynn MacDonald. In keeping with Herb's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family wishes to thank "the girls" from Annapolis Valley Homecare, for their kindness, support and compassionate care.
