MAGEE (Thies), Hilda Ellen of Middle Sackville, formerly of Kingston passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at home. Born in Torbrook, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Fisher) Dorey. Hilda was retired from Central & Eastern Trust. She was a member of the Kingston United Church, having served as treasurer of the Church as well as treasurer of the Kingston Pastoral Charge. She was also treasurer of the Susie Foster Unit of the U.C.W. for many years and had been made a Life Member of the U.C.W. Hilda enjoyed square dancing and was an associate member of square dance clubs in Nova Scotia and Florida. She is survived by her son Wayne (Deb) Thies, Middle Sackville; grandchildren Lori Lessard, Jordan Thies and Kevin Bezanson; three great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Hilda was predeceased by her first husband Gustav Burke Thies and her second husband Howard Magee; grandaughter Heidi; sisters Lalia, Gladys, Marinda, Florence and brothers William, Frank, Horace, John, Joseph and Tom. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 27, 2016 in the Kingston United Church with Rev. John Moses officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Halifax.
