CLARK, Howard Brenton - age 86, a resident of Middleton Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre, formerly of Wilmot, NS passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Brenton Harland and Nellie Grace (Fisher) Clark. Howard was always a hard- working man having been employed with Valley Creamery, Farmers Dairy and Acadia Dairy; then operating his own carpentry business. He loved his family very much and really enjoyed camping, He threw a mean horseshoe and loved washer toss. He was the crokinole champ. Howard will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, Eileen (Stingel); daughters Sheila (Stephen) Wheeler, Stellarton, NS and Shelley Clark (Ed Turbitt), Kentville; sisters Carrie Crook, Kingston; Marilyn Nauss, Berwick and Patricia Samuel, Halifax; brothers George (Shirley) Clark, Edmonton, AB; grandchildren; Andrew Fairn, Ashley Lawrence, Nicholas Wheeler, Benjamin Wheeler, Katie Smith, Derek Crossman and Mitchell Crossman and twelve great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Frederick. In keeping with Howard's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre or a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. The family would like to thank all the medical personnel, nursing staff, volunteers, dietary and maintenance staff who helped us all over the years. A very special thank you to Dr. Saxon and Kim Grant each and every staff member at Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre for helping us with Howard's end of life journey.
