SMITH, Inez Elaine 86, of Kingston, NS passed away peacefully on Monday December 13, 2010 in Orchard Villa, Berwick. Born in Springhill, NS, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Corkum) Bigelow. Inez was a registered nurse for over 30 years. She moved to Ontario in 1948 where she and her late husband Gerald lived for 40 years before retiring back to Nova Scotia in 1990. She was an active member of the Melvern Square United Baptist Church and was an avid reader. She is survived by her loving family; daughter, Barbara (Dennis) King, Ajax, ON; son, David (Leslie) Smith, Scarborough, ON; sister, Hazel (Frank) Calder, Kingston; brother, Ralph (Mary) Bigelow, Hamilton, ON; grandchildren, Amanda, Kirsten, Matthew, Jamie and great-granddaughter Justine. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by Gerald, her dear husband of 52 years and brothers, George, Gordon and Kenneth. Visitation will be held 7-9PM Thursday, December 16, 2010 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Friday, December 17, 2010 in the Melvern Square United Baptist Church. Rev. Sharon Budd officiating. Interment will be in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square.
