It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ira Robert Taylor of Dartmouth, NS on Thursday, June 6th, 2024.

Ira passed away peacefully at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton surrounded by his loving family.

Ira will be sorely missed by his daughter, Melanie (Kevin) Taylor-Ruggles of West Dalhousie, NS; sister, Treasure (Philip) Stairs of Beausejour, MB; granddaughter, Jessica (Chris) Smith of Caledonia, NS; grandson, Austin (Lexy) Ruggles of West Dalhousie, NS; great granddaughters, Isabella and Skylar of Caledonia, NS; niece, Cheryl (Ron) Mozel of Beausejour, MB and his second family, the entire team of Cummins Diesel, Dartmouth Branch.

Ira is predeceased by his father, Vernon E. Taylor, mother, Evelyn F. Ross, stepfather, Charles V. Ross, stepbrothers, Gordon D. Ross and David C. Ross and nephew Philip V. T. Stairs.

Ira worked as a diesel mechanic at Cummins Diesel since 1974 and proudly received his 50 years of service pin on April 30th, 2024. His work took him all over Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. He spoke fondly of his coworkers and customers over the years and considered many of them good friends.

Ira's quick wit and "tell it like it is" attitude will be missed by many.

Special thanks to the physicians and nurses at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital whose care made Ira's last days as comfortable as possible. For that, we are truly grateful.

At Ira's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Donations in memory may be made to Cancer Care, Nova Scotia
