CONANT, Irene Alma - 86 of Middleton passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Bloomington, she was a daughter of the late Frank & Minnie (Uhlman) Conant. Irene had been formerly employed at Middleton Dry Cleaners, Driftwood Motel, Wandlyn Inn, Coldbrook, Britex, Centrelea and was retired from Brocklin Toys, New Albany. Irene enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching "Coronation Street". She loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews and was like a mother to them. Special thanks to Cyndi, Carol and David for taking such good care of Irene. Irene is survived by a sister Olga Balcom, Middleton; sisters-in-law Shirley, Toronto and Deana, Lawrencetown, Halifax, Co. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Pauline; brothers Donald, Harold and Russell. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 4th in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 where the funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 5th Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. A reception will be held following the service. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Nictaux Cemetery or charity of choice.
