LYON, Irene Sophia ~ age 84 of Wilmot, NS, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2018, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Middleton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mae (Sabean) Parker. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed the outdoors, playing cards, especially a good game of nickels; and gatherings with the senior group on Fridays. She is survived by her daughters, Valarie (Anthony) Van den Heuvel, Victoriavale; Teresa (Greg) Brunt, Edmonton, AB; sons, Doug (Debra), Ottawa, ON; Carl (Carolyn), Vancouver Island; brother, Obed Parker, Digby; eight grandchildren, Krista (Danny), Kurt (Rochelle), Shawna, Jessie, Dylan, Evan, Courtney (Steve) and Ashley; five great grandchildren, Madison, Aiden, Kai, Lacey, Austin and various nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Thomas "Leslie" Williams in July 1952; second husband, Allison "Ted" Lyon in Sept 2003, companion Bob Foster; two sons, David, Rodney; four sisters, Joyce, Ruth, Edith, Eileen; four brothers, Max, Roy, Charles, Benny. In keeping with Irene's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in the Wiswall Cemetery, Wilmot.
