MacMurtery, Irene Gertrude - Age 92 of East Margaretsville, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023, at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Veteran's Unit, Middleton. Born in Middleton, June 3, 1931.

Irene was a long-time member of Margaretsville Baptist Church, Senior's Group Weekly, and Margaretsville Church Guild.

Irene is survived by son, Gary (Mary) Blaney, Osgoode, ON; stepson, Blair (Glenna) MacMurtery, Hantsport, NS; stepdaughter, Brenda (Jason) Stoddart, Georgia, USA; grandchildren; sister, Rosemary (Preston) Allen, St. Margarets Bay.

Irene was predeceased by her husband, Alvah Louis MacMurtery; son, Wallace Blaney; brothers, Robert, and Ralph.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 9:00AM Friday, December 1, 2023, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free: 1-855-825-3448. Interment will follow in Bay View Cemetery, Margaretsville. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
