Toole, Irene Louise – 84, of East Tremont, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Toronto, ON, she was a daughter of the late Ella May Gunn. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Alton and Irene met in Ontario and fell in love. After working and living in Ontario in their early years, they moved to Nova Scotia where she fit in right away. Irene loved her family and worked hard to make occasions extra special - growing cucumbers and picking apples. She worked at the Met in Greenwood and then the Kingston Post Office until retirement. Irene loved playing bingo just like her mother. Surviving is her loving husband of 67 years, Donald "Alton", sons, Donald "Donnie", North Kingston; David (Lisa), East Tremont; daughter, Debra "Debbie" Toole (Bruce Ross), Truro; grandchildren Cody Toole (Kelsey Osborne), Wilmot; Jessica Toole (Brett Curtis), Middleton; Monica Toole, Truro; Josh Ross, Truro; great grandchildren, Christian, Willow, and Ariyah. Along with her mother, she was predeceased by her sisters June and Lorraine and her brother John. In keeping with Irene's wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment in North Kingston Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Irene may be made to Diabetes Canada.
