TRIMPER, Ivan Herbert ~ age 78, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, in Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre, Middleton. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Lenley and Alice (Banks) Trimper. Ivan worked for 13 years in the United States where he first got a job picking apples. During his time in Maine, he met his wife, Nancy.  He then started his own excavating business in Maine. He also operated a D8 bulldozer for Cumberland Farms in Bridgewater, Mass. After Ivan's father died in 1976, he moved back home to Nova Scotia in 1978 to be close to his mother. He built a home on the family land and started his business, Ivan Trimper Excavating. Ivan enjoyed a good feed of lobster. He had a great passion for Arctic Cat snowmobiles, Ford trucks, Caterpillar machinery and antique cars and tractors. He will be sadly missed by his German Sheppard companion, Diesel. Ivan is survived by his sons, Curtis (Karen) Trimper, Torbrook West; Scott (Tina) Trimper, South Williamston; sisters, Mary Gallant, South Farmington; Dale Rhodenizer (Glen), Rhodes Corner, Lun. Co.; brothers, Harry "Budgie" (Janet), Torbrook; Harold "Sherman" (Brenda), Torbrook; grandchildren, Christopher (Leanna) Trimper, Torbrook West; Lisa Trimper (Chris Carty), Harbourville; Michael Trimper, Torbrook West; Landon Trimper, South Williamston; great grandchildren, Jayden Covert, June Trimper, Tinley Trimper and Brooklyn Boudreau and many nieces and nephews. Ivan is predeceased by his wife, Nancy; sister, Sylvia Banks and Louise Cole; brother's-in-law, Arthur Gallant, Robert Banks and Curtis Cole. The family would like to thank the staff at the Heart of the Valley, his granddaughter Lisa, and special friend Margaret Morse for Ivan's care. A memorial service for both Ivan and Nancy will take place at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Jeff Milne officiating, with interment in Nictaux Cemetery. Donations in Ivan's memory may be made to Torbrook United Baptist Church or charity of choice.
