Obituary

SMITH, Jack James - The family of baby Jack James Smith born July 29, 2009 are devastated by his tragic death in a house fire on July 9, 2010 in Greenwood. Jack was the son of Erin Ashley Fleming and Gary Alexander Smith both of Greenwood. He is survived by his parents, grandmother Kelly Fleming of Dutch Settlement, grandfather Ken Fleming of Halifax and grandmother Cindy McClelland (Vic) of Langdon Alberta, grandfather Les Smith (Stephanie Harvey) of Wilmot. Jack was a nephew to Aunts Jennifer Smith of Greenwood and Shannon Fleming of Dutch Settlement. Jack is also survived by his great-grandmother Carol Yetman of Greenwood and many great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins on both sides of the family. The family wishes to sincerely thank with all their hearts the men and women of the Kingston Volunteer Fire Department, EHS Paramedics, Kingston Detachment of the RCMP and 14 Wing Military Police for their valiant efforts in the early morning of July 9th. The family will be holding a reception for family, friends and all those who assisted in the response at the home of Stephanie Harvey and Les Smith, 52 Harvey Lane, Wilmot on Friday July 16th from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. The family recognizes the impact this tragedy has had on the community and for those involved however Gary and Erin have requested a private family service for Jack on Sunday July 18, 2010, Padre Gordon Poley officiating. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jack may be made to the Kingston Volunteer Fire Department.
