THURBER, Jack Veness ~ Born on April 14, 1950 Age 73 passed away at home in Annapolis Royal on Tuesday, August 10, 2023. Born in Saint Stevens, NB he was a son of the late Roy Edwin and Elanore Joyce (Veness) Thurber. Jack was an avid hunter and sports fisherman. He loved to tie flies which he would love to give to anyone that wanted one. He loved to share his many hunting and fishing stories with anyone he met. Jack was quick to make friends. In his later years he worked as a CCA for the VON until he retired. Jack is survived by his chosen brothers, Frank (Audra) Foley, Graywood, Matthew Buckler, Hillburn; special friend, Betty Ann Boudreau; friends, Curtis and Kate Dunn. Jack was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Nan Caroline Thurber-Barker. There will be no visitation as per Jack's request. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 120 Parker Mountain Road, Annapolis Royal. Reception will follow the service in the chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Halifax, NS.
