Obituary

DOOKS (Phinney), Jacqueline Ann "Jackie" ~ Age 59, of Melvern Square, NS, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, due to complications of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

She is survived by her loving husband and devoted partner of 43 years, Derek.

Raised on a farm on Dodge Road, Jackie was one of eight children. She is survived by siblings George (Nina), Melvern Square; Darlene (Scott), Petawawa; Wendy (John), Ottawa; Belinda, Cornwall, Ontario; Cynthia, Ottawa; Charles (Pat), Middleton; and youngest sister, Tammy, British Columbia. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Peter (Karen), Greenwood; Brent (Sheri), Prince Edward Island; sister-in-law Glenna, Bridgewater; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Jackie was predeceased by her parents, George Sr. and Evelyn; father-in-law, Victor "Joe"; mother-in-law, Barbara; and grandmother, Verna.

Her career was dedicated in recent years to Kings Honda, following 23 years with CBS. Jackie will be remembered for her love of animals and the joy she found in celebrating the triumphs of others.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Forward, Danielle, and the compassionate staff of units 4, 8A, and 8B at the Victoria General Hospital for their incredible care. Special appreciation is also given to the staff of Valley Regional Hospital—Chemo Department, Emergency Department, and ICU—as well as Dr. Michele Saxon and the caring team at the Middleton Collaborative Practice and Palliative Care Team.

As per Jackie's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no service. Interment will take place at Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square, at a later date.
