ANDERSON, James Kenneth “Jim” – Age 84, of Meadowvale, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Sunday, April 26, 2026. Born on March 21, 1942, in The Pas, Manitoba, Jim was the beloved son of the late George M. and Edith S. (Nordholm) Anderson.
In his younger years, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing and took great pride in owning and operating an animal and grain farm while raising his family in The Pas, Manitoba. His strong work ethic was evident throughout his life. Jim worked at a mine in Thompson before returning to The Pas, where he drove a grader for the town. He later began working at Manfor, the local pulp and paper mill and main industry in the community. While employed there, Jim returned to school and earned his Millwright ticket.
Jim was deeply involved with the International Woodworkers of America and was honoured to be appointed President by his peers, a role he held for many years. His working years concluded as a custodian at Pine Ridge Middle School, where he was known as a dependable and kind presence.
Jim had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs, Butch, Tutak, and D.O.G., who brought him much joy and companionship. He was well known for his warm sense of humor and shared countless moments of laughter—often to the point of happy tears—with his wife, Debbie. Together, they enjoyed attending local bingo games and spending time side by side.
Jim was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene in Tremont, where he appreciated men’s nights and the fellowship they provided. He will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, his love for his family and friends, and the genuine care he showed to those around him.
Surviving is his wife, Deborah C. Robar‑Pelton; and his two stepchildren:
Jim was predeceased by his former wife, Serena J. Martin.
