SMITH, James Archibald "Archie" age 86 of Wilmot passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at home. Born in Scotch Village, he was a son of the late Arthur Leroy and Victoria Rose "Queenie" (Dimock) Smith. Archie was retired from the Canadian Army after 25 years of service. He was an avid woodcarver creating many unique pieces. Archie was very devoted to caring for and visiting his wife Mary every day at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Sneddon Reid, Bridgetown; daughter, Catherine Costa, Regina, SK; son, Andrew Smith (Marileigh), Clarence; sister, Rose Turple, Bedford, NS; grandchildren, Melissa Phillips, Logan Best, Kaitlyn Smith-Teal, great grandchildren, Brynn Phillips and Leah Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Jessie; brothers, Arthur and Richard. Cremation has taken place. At Archie's request, there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of Archie's life will take place at a later date. Archie was very appreciative of the visits from friends and neighbours since his return to his home from the hospital.
