HENSHAW, James Frederick ~ age 87 of Tremont, passed away on March 16, 2019 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Bear River, he was the son of the late William and Mildred (Franklin) Hanshaw. James served with the Royal Canadian Regiment for five years and then the RCAF, for a combined total of 25 years (1954-1974). He worked at CFB Greenwood, as a Barrack Warden from 1976 until his retirement in 1992. He also worked with Cadets and the Militia. James loved woodworking; building his own home and working in the woods. He enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, fishing and camping. James will be deeply missed by his wife, Evelyn (Dugas); his children, Curtis (Denise) Henshaw, Frankford, ON; Karen (Joseph) Guerin, Victoria BC; Laureen (Thomas) Pollard, Victoria BC; Gail Gautreau (David Smith), Cochrane, AB; Derek (Eva) Henshaw, Tremont; Blair (Carrie) Henshaw, Kingston, ON; sister,Virginia Langille, Digby; grandchildren, Steven Henshaw, Jeffrey and Ashley Guerin; John and Christopher Morrison; David and Krystal Ellingwood; Jeremy Gautreau; and Kyle and Nicole Henshaw; as well as 19 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, James was predeceased by sisters, Hazel Johnson, Anna Hayward and Ruth O'Hara; and brothers, Blair Hanshaw in infancy, Wilfred Hanshaw and Eugene Hanshaw. In keeping with James' wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
