FOSTER, James Theadore "Jim" – Age 88, of Mount Hanley, Annapolis Co., N.S., passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Jim was born in Arlington, Annapolis Co., N.S., to parents, Reise and Lillian (Banks) Foster on September 22, 1936.

He is survived by daughter, Michelle Lloyd Blanchard (Dave) Waasis, N.B.; grandsons, Christopher Lloyd, (Laura) Oakville, Ontario; Adam Lloyd (Veronika) Hamilton, Ontario; beloved great grandson, Jack Lloyd; and several nieces and nephews.  He will be sorely missed by his longtime friends and neighbours, Randy and Linda Young.

He was predeceased by dear friend, Iona Veinotte; brothers, Calvin, Earl, and Arthur.

Jim grew up in Kingston Village (now known as Greenwood Village). He started work and drove trucks for Valley Creamery, Berwick and Port Royal Dairy. He drove furniture trucks for Maritime Warehousing and Thompson's Moving and Storage. He was proud to receive many expert Driving Awards. He had a hobby farm, raised beef cattle and sold freezer beef for over 40 years.

He was Manager of the Annapolis County Federation of Agriculture cattle sales in Lawrencetown for twenty-five years. Jim was a quiet man who was very intelligent. He took a great interest in politics, kept up on current events and could speak knowledgeably on any subject.  Jim had a wonderful sense of humour and quick wit.  Even in his illness he was cracking jokes. He was much loved in the community and surrounding areas and will be greatly missed.

There will be no visitation. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Leon Langille officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
