MARSHALL, James Gregory "Greg" ~ Age 74, of Harmony, Kings Co., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 12, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born in Toronto, Ontario, on May 5, 1950, he was a son of the late James H. and Doris M. (Donovan) Marshall.
Greg was a very special kind man and anyone who knew him was blessed by his presence. He will be missed far and wide by all. Greg had a passion for farming, loved dogs and was well known in the farming community, often lending his knowledge and helping hand. He leaves behind a legacy – Valley View Border Collies. Greg's kindness, patience and compassion made a strong impact to all those who met him during his devoted 35-year career as a teacher.
Besides his parents, James and Doris; he was predeceased by his son, Timothy James Gregory Marshall; sister, Diane Louise.
Greg leaves behind his loving wife, Jackie, who honored his wishes and cared for him at home. Their story was filled with adventure, love and family. Greg is also survived by siblings, Doug (Bonnie) Marshall, Bruce (Karen) Marshall, Billy (Lydia) Marshall and Tracy (Les) Jillett; daughters, Rebecca Marshall, Natalie (Chuck) Tringle; stepdaughters, Cocanda Lowe, Keisha Lowe (Burton Duguay), Brittany (Philip) Freundlich. Greg was known and adored as Poppy by his grandchildren, Antoine, Phillipe, Hannah, Lucas, Nathan, Jillian and Stella, with another set to arrive in March, Matthew James.
As per Greg's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life with family will be held on the farm at a later date. Donations may be made to Chili Angel Fund at Greenwood Animal Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Silver for going above and beyond to ensure that Greg was comfortable and to Janet from Palliative Care for her support.
