O'MALLEY, James Kenneth "Ken" - 80 of Harmony, NS passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Connaught, Ont. he was a son of the late Basil and Grace (Harmour) O'Malley. Ken's 32 year military career began in 1950 with his first posting to CFB Greenwood, followed by postings to CFB Summerside; 1 Wing Marville, France; CFB Trenton; Fairey Aviation; IMP Aerospace and back to CFB Greenwood, retiring from the RCAF in 1982. He then worked at the Canex Mall, 14 Wing Greenwood and later fully retired after 10 years of service with AVRSB at the Middleton Regional High School. Surviving besides his wife the former Velma Newcombe, Grand View Manor, Berwick are sons Steven (Marlene), Harmony and Randy (Cathy), Chester; sister, Judy O'Malley, North Bay, Ont. Grandchildren Gerry (Angie) O'Malley, Harmony; Angie (Gary) Ridgewell, Cold Lake, Alberta; Devon & Tyler O'Malley, Chester; great grandchildren Jonathon, Hayley, Sarah and Abbey. He was predeceased by a sister Patricia Robb, Sudbury, Ont. By request, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Nictaux Cemetery.
